Afghanistan Economic Monitor
Overview & Synopsis
Afghanistan’s economy remains under strain from large-scale migrant returns and prolonged border closures with Pakistan. Although stronger demand and improved revenue collection support modest growth, weak investment continues to constrain productivity. Consequently, per capita GDP is projected to decline by 4 percent in FY2025, with poverty remaining widespread.
