Overview & Synopsis

Knowledge Packs (KP) are short, pragmatic guides on specific themes in the field of educational technologies (EdTech) intended to provide sufficient knowledge and understanding for non-technical stakeholders to make key decisions regarding planning, design, and procurement for education. They serve as a starting point for planning the deployment of educational technologies to improve education, particularly for ministries of education. This KP informs policymakers about the potential of open education to ensure learning continuity in contexts of shocks or structural fragilities in the education system. It focuses on the basic education framework (primary and secondary). Open education offers extremely flexible learning modalities that allow adaptation to any learner and offer everyone the opportunity to learn regardless of their age, gender, place of residence, socioeconomic and cultural situation, any specific needs, etc.
