Overview & Synopsis

The objective of the Additional Financing of the Cadastre and Land Tenure Improvement Project for Senegal is to strengthen the Recipient’s capacity for the implementation of its cadastre at a national level; and to increase the number of land rights registered in selected areas. The purpose of the AF is to scale up the geographical coverage by extending the number of supported municipalities and expanding its scope to include urban and peri-urban areas, rather than focusing solely on rural land and by increasing the number of registered land parcels. The parent project in the amount of 80.0 million dollars from International Development Association (IDA) credit 40.0 million dollars) and grant (IDA grant D841-SN - 40.0 million dollars) was approved by the Board on June 15, 2021, and became effective on August 27, 2021, with a closing date of July 24, 2026.
