Mozambique - Rural and Small Towns Water Security Project : Additional Grant
Overview & Synopsis
The development objective of the Rural and Small Towns Water Security Project for Mozambique is to increase access to improved water supply and sanitation services in selected small towns and rural areas of Mozambique. The additional financing responds to two needs: (i) replenishing the Contingent Emergency Response Component (CERC) drawn for Cyclone Freddyβs February-March 2023 response in Mozambique, and (ii) addressing design inaccuracies stemming from COVID-era preparation, when field access was not possible, plus exchange rate financing gaps, that resulted in cost overruns.
