Ethiopia - Second Phase Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project in the Horn of Africa Project : Additional Financing
Overview & Synopsis
The development objective of Second Phase Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project in the Horn of Africa Project is to improve access to basic social and economic services, expand livelihood opportunities and enhance environmental management for host communities and refugees in the target areas. This paper seeks the approval for an Additional Financing (AF) grant of US$100 million for the project. The AF and restructuring would support a scale-up of activities and address a cost overrun to respond to important developments in the operating context and policy environment. This second level of restructuring requires the following changes: (a) update selected results indicators to incorporate new activities to be funded by the AF; (b) accommodate changes to the project’s approach to supporting renewable energy under component 2 on Sustainable Environmental Management; and (c) extend the closing date by 18 months from December 31, 2027 to June 30, 2029 to allow time to complete the new activities.
