Climate Health Implementation Manual : Intervention Guidance - Human Resources for Climate Health : From First Steps to Advanced Climate Health through Human Resource Actions
Overview & Synopsis
This guide supports that dual agenda. It draws on World Bank Climate and Health Vulnerability Assessments conducted across Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and the Pacific; the Health System Transformation and Resilience Fund review of 82 national climate policy documents; and operational evidence from World Bank Health, Nutrition and Population, Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery, and Disaster Risk Management and Health programs across four regions. Country evidence consistently shows that climate-health workforce investment delivers returns on existing HRH objectives: reducing attrition, improving clinical quality, sustaining service delivery during emergencies, and building the institutional capacity that makes health systems function under stress. The business case for climate-health workforce investment is not separate from the case for health system strengthening; it is the same case, made more urgent by a changing climate
