Private Sector Participation in Electricity Distribution and Retail (Presentation)
Overview & Synopsis
Private sector participation (PSP) in electricity distribution and retail supply can take several forms. These vary in the extent of involvement of, and therefore level of risk, taken by the private party. International experience shows that three main models are primarily employed in PSP: Management contract; Lease/franchise/affermage; Privatization (concession/license).
