Overview & Synopsis

The Tracker of Learning Assessment Activities in South Asia has been developed as a regional public good under the World Bank’s Skills Collaboration & Action for Learning and Employability (SCALE) platform. The Tracker consolidates a comprehensive overview of national and international learning assessment activities across the countries of South Asia. It brings together publicly available information from assessment agencies, ministries of education, and development partners to provide a summary of how countries measure learning outcomes at scale, the degree to which these assessments are institutionalized, and how their results are used to inform policy and practice. Attention is given to foundational literacy and numeracy, participation in international assessments, and countries’ readiness to report on international learning indicators.
