Task Force on Integration of the World Bank Group Independent Accountability Mechanisms : Final Report and Recommendations
Overview & Synopsis
This report presents the Task Force’s assessment and recommendations on integrating the World Bank Group’s independent accountability mechanisms - Inspection Panel, Dispute Resolution Service, and Compliance Advisor Ombudsman guided by principles of effectiveness, independence, and no policy regression; it finds the current system broadly effective but facing challenges in accessibility and remediation, and concludes that a carefully sequenced integration, supported by policy harmonization, would improve coherence, access, institutional learning, and Board oversight while preserving independence.
