Overview & Synopsis
A compilation of the provisions of the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, including the 1988 Cumulative Supplement, which relate to postsecondary education, is presented. It supersedes a similar publication dated December 1985. Included are copies of Executive Orders issued by the Governor of South Carolina that affect postsecondary education. Certain acts that have not been codified are also included. A number of provisions of the Code that have general applicability are not reproduced. These cover leave, the retirement system, and grievance procedures, among other topics. Fourteen sections concern the following topics: State Commission on Higher Education; licensure; State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education; vocational education; higher education facilities; provisions for students; miscellaneous provisions; colleges and universities generally; colleges and universities specifically; area higher education commissions; area technical education commissions and committees; Executive Orders; South Carolina Constitution; and regional organizations.
