5. Thismia huangii Chiang & Hsieh (2011: 139)Type: — TAIWAN. Hsinchu County: Sumakusu, 24°34’50’’N 121°19’40’’E, ca. 1500 m, 9 July 2009, T.H. Hsieh, P.Y. Chiang 3031 (lectotype, designated here: TAI: 277941!; isolectotypes TAI: 277942!, Herbarium of National University of Tainan).Distribution: — Taiwan (Hsinchu).Nomenclatural notes: —In the original description of Thismia huangii, Chiang & Hsieh (2011) indicated a specimen of the collection Hsieh, Chiang 3031 at TAI as the holotype, and its duplicates at the Herbarium of National University of Tainan as isotypes. However, we have found two duplicates of Hsieh, Chiang 3031 in TAI matching the detailed description and specimen label information included in the protologue. These duplicates should be treated as syntypes in accordance with Art. 9.6 of ICN (Turland et al. 2018). We selected the specimen with the number 277941 as the lectotype following Arts. 9.3 and 9.11 of ICN (Turland et al. 2018) as it represents best the species, having several flowers. The other specimen at TAI (277942), as well as the ones at the Herbarium of National University of Tainan (not seen), are isolectotypes.

Background: Treatment of liver metastases of colorectal carcinoma is surgical resection. However, only 10-15% of the patients in this context will be candidate for curative resection arising other 10-13% after response to neoadyuvant chemotherapy. In order to perform the liver metastases surgery, it is necessary to have a sufficient remnant liver volume (RLV) which allows maintaining an optimal liver function after resection. Studies on liver regeneration have determined that CD133 + stem cells are involved in liver hypertrophy developed after an hepatectomy with encouraging results. As presented in previous studies, CD133 + stem cells can be selected from peripheral blood after stimulation with G-CSF, being able to obtain a large number of them. We propose to treat patients who do not meet criteria for liver metastases surgery because of insufficient RLV (<40%) with CD133 + cells together with portal embolization, in order to achieve enough liver volume which avoids liver failure. Methods: /Design: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of preoperative PVE plus the administration of CD133 + mobilized from peripheral blood with G-CSF compared to PVE only. SECONDARY AIMS ARE: to compare the grade of hypertrophy, speed and changes in liver function, anatomopathological study of hypertrophied liver, to determine the safety of the treatment and analysis of postoperative morbidity and surveillance. Study design: Prospective randomized longitudinal phase IIb clinical trial, open, to evaluate the efficacy of portal embolization (PVE) together with the administration of CD133 + cells obtained from peripheral blood versus PVE alone, in patients with hepatic metastasis of colorectal carcinoma (CCRHM). Discussion: The number of CD133 + obtained from peripheral blood after G -CSF stimulation will be far greater than the number obtained with direct puncture of bone marrow. This will allow a greater intrahepatic infusion, which could have a direct impact on achieving a larger and quicker hypertrophy. Consequently, it will permit the treatment of a larger number of patients with an increase on their survival.

Neptunea jewetti n. sp.Figures 17 F–Gurn:lsid:zoobank.org:act: D8DE791E-FE05-4AE9-9A87-F503B07F7E65Type locality: SE side of Yunaska Island, Islands of Four Mountains (52°35.6 N, 170°38.24 W), 18 m. (AKMAP 2006 station: AKALE06-0037) (leg. Stephen C. Jewett, 17 July, 2006).Type material: LACM 3587 (49.7 mm).Description: Shell of moderate size (50 mm), pyriform, rather broad, whorls somewhat flattened above suture; suture weakly impressed; periostracum absent. protoconch small, about 1.4 mm in diameter, smooth, 1.5 whorls (partially obscured by a bryozoan in the holotype), 3.5 teleconch whorls. Axial and spiral sculpture lacking except for faint incremental growth lines; color uniformly dark brown. Aperture slightly more than half of shell height; Aperture large, oval; canal short, broad. Operculum notably smaller than aperture, nucleus terminal.Radula: Rachidian tooth broadly rectangular, bearing five short, sharply pointed cusps, grading slightly from the outer to the central one. Lateral teeth tricuspid, outer cusp long, relatively thick, curved, central cusp considerably shorter, set close to inner cusp, inner cusp about as thick, but only ¾ as long as outer cusp, and only slightly curved at tip.Remarks: Bears some resemblance Neptunea ventricosa (Gmelin, 1790), but is smaller, and has less inflated whorls, and shorter, broader canal. This species also bears some superficial resemblance to Volutopsius castaneus (Mörch, 1858), but is immediately distinguished by the proportions of the shell.Etymology: The name honors biologist Dr. Stephen C. Jewett, University of Alaska, Fairbanks (retired), The AKMAP Survey co-leader, who collected the holotype.Distribution: known so far only from the holotype, taken at 18 m, at Yunaska Island, Islands of Four Mountains.Habitat: Holotype found on gravel in area of moderate to strong surge. Bottom temperature 4.4°C.
