The development objective of the Growth and Resilience Development Policy Operation for Moldova is to support sustainable economic growth through the following reform areas: (i) strengthening competitiveness, efficiency, and transparency of markets; and (ii) strengthening resilience and economic integration. The operation is aligned with the Maximizing Finance for Development-enabling (MFD-e) approach and private investment generated through the operation is counted towards Private Capital Enabled (PCE). This operation is aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement. It is consistent with Moldova's climate commitments (Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and National Adaptation Plan (NAP) and has direct linkages with Moldova Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR). This operation is expected to create more and better paid jobs. The policy reforms supported by this operation are estimated to generate the equivalent of around 33,000 more and better paid jobs by 2030 compared to the baseline scenario (without reforms) (see details in Annex 3), which represent employment and wage acceleration compared to historical trends.
