This note presents the 11th edition of the World Bank’s Multidimensional Poverty Measure (MPM) database, drawing on the latest country data from the Global Monitoring Database (GMD) as of April 2026. The MPM offers a broader view of poverty by examining deprivations along three dimensions of well-being: monetary poverty (measured using the international poverty line at $3.00 per person per day in 2021 PPP), education, and access to basic infrastructure services. This latest edition covers 100 economies for circa 2023, and notably includes India and Nigeria, which drastically increases the population coverage of the MPM globally.

The Digital Skills Toolkit v2.0 is an interactive, policy-oriented resource designed to support policymakers, education leaders, and development practitioners in designing, strengthening, and implementing national digital skills strategies and action plans. Bringing together a wide range of World Bank analytical work, knowledge packs, guidance notes, tools, and country case studies, the toolkit consolidates evidence-based resources into a single, navigable platform. Organized around a structured framework, the toolkit guides users through the full digital skills policy lifecycle, from assessing demand and supply to developing inclusive policies and supporting implementation across key areas. These areas include digital infrastructure and resources, teachers’ skills, competency frameworks and curricula, ecosystem engagement, and innovation. It emphasizes the use of robust diagnostics, labor market analysis, skills assessments, and internationally recognized competency frameworks to ensure alignment between education systems, labor market needs, and national development priorities. A distinctive feature of the toolkit is its interactive design and AI-powered assistant, which enables users to navigate content efficiently, access relevant resources, summarize documents, and generate customized outputs to inform policy dialogue and program design. By integrating low‑ and high‑tech delivery models, equity-focused policy approaches, and lessons from country experiences, the Digital Skills Toolkit v2.0 provides a practical and adaptable foundation for advancing inclusive, scalable, and future‑ready digital skills development, particularly in low‑ and middle‑income contexts.
